Teach For Portugal is an independent, non-profit organisation, founded to expand opportunity for vulnerable children in Portugal by recruiting and developing the leadership capacity necessary to address educational inequality in the country. Why the Recruitment and Selection team?

The mission of the Recruitment and Selection Team consists of the recruitment and selection of the country’s top talent to join Teach For Portugal’s Leadership Program and commit two years of their life to teach in the country’s high-need schools. In Teach For Portugal’s initial phase, the Recruitment and selection team faces the great challenge of recruiting Teach For Portugal’s initial cohorts.

Main measures of success:

Contribute to recruit and select the required number of candidates to place 100 TFP mentors with high potential in 2025, and a growing number thereafter, ensuring academic and socio-economic diversity;
Organise and manage the selection process effectively, ensuring a positive experience for candidates and achieving high levels of satisfaction and learning throughout the selection journey.
Build a database of public and private partners to engage with Teach For Portugal; establishing the necessary partnerships and relationships to implement our recruitment and selection strategy;
Contribute to creating and managing projects in partnership with different stakeholders to ensure the achievement of goals;
Accelerate organisational learning through knowledge capture and management.



Duties and Responsibilities:

From November to June 2025, the main responsibility will be to execute the recruitment and selection strategy to achieve our goal and get 2500 candidates to our program.



Execute and track the recruitment and selection process:

Actively recruit, cultivate, track and select candidates;
Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities, regularly review recruitment and selection processes progress;
Manage communication with candidates to ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout the recruitment and selection process;
Monitor, analyse and disseminate relevant data and information to guide the ongoing recruitment and selection process and ensure targets are met;
Elaborate partnerships in the educational and social impact ecosystem, namely universities, students clubs and associations, social organisations, public partners, etc.;
Organise and provide logistical coordination for internal and external recruitment events and careers fairs;
Organise and provide logistical coordination for the different stages of the selection process, collaborating with external partners when necessary;
Coordinate and support logistics for matriculation activities.



Actively contribute towards developing and improving the Recruitment Strategy:

Planning and implementing talent attraction campaigns in collaboration with the Recruitment and Marketing team;
Building, maintaining and leveraging relationships with a variety of stakeholders to increase awareness and application numbers from within our target markets;
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in recruitment practices, staying updated with industry trends and best practices;
Experiment with new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the recruitment process.



Actively contribute towards developing and improving the Selection Process:

Review and refine selection methodologies and tools to ensure they are effective and aligned with organisational goals;
Gather feedback from candidates and internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in the selection process;
Implement innovative assessment techniques and technologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of candidate evaluations;
Develop and update selection guidelines and materials to ensure consistency and high standards in candidate assessment.



Actively contribute towards developing and improving the strategy of the organization:

Collaborate with the team in coming up with a long-term vision and strategy for the organisation;
Support the RSM Director to develop organisation-wide strategic and operational plan; monitor organisational performance;
Collaborate with the team on key strategic initiatives and issues to optimise the operations of the organisation as well as maximise impact.



Required Skills, Experience & Mindset:

Required Skills & Experience:

- Excellent communication (writing and speaking - Portuguese and English): Excellent persuasive communication and the ability to articulate Teach For Portugal vision passionately; you are able to prepare formal and informal emails and other necessary documents; to prepare and lead meetings online and in person; and to deliver presentations in several occasions;
- Management and strategy planning: Ability of leading projects from start to finish, dealing with deadlines, defining objectives and actions, documentation, reporting, and evaluation;
- Defining and managing partnerships: Ability and sensitivity to deal with different audiences; work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including Universities, NGOs, corporate sector, government authorities, and others;
- Organisational skills and attention to detail: Strong organisational skills and the ability to assess, prioritise and manage a varied workload; ability to keep track of all the information and organise it clearly and consistently;
- Tech savvy: Able to autonomously use Office (specially excel) and Google tools; we use other several tools like Canva, Formassembly or Salesforce. You are also comfortable using LinkedIn as a useful networking and recruitment tool;
- Experience in data-analysis (desirable): Comfortable with use of databases and their analysis to track progress against targets - eg: Excel, Salesforce, other relevant tools;
- Knowledge of the Portuguese job hunting market (desirable): Understanding of how the job market works in Portugal, including different industries, regional differences, and current job trends. Knowledge of hiring practices;
- Recruiting experience (desirable): ability to outreach, cultivate and attract candidates for a specific purpose/program. We want to see you are able to inspire groups of people on a shared purpose;
- Selection experience (desirable): ability in selecting candidates for specific programs. Demonstrated capability to inspire and engage with candidates;

What we offer:

Contractual terms:

Total gross offer amounting to 20,300 EUR/year, which will be paid over 12 months;
This amount already includes a meal allowance of 5.2 EUR/day (non-taxable component).
The contract has an initial duration of 1 year, with the possibility of renewal afterward.
