Job Description
We are currently seeking an environment engineer, to join a EPCm team based in Sines, to be permanently assigned to our project of green transition, reporting to Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
• Report to the Site HSE manager for all the issues regarding the development and implementation of the environmental management system.
• Report to the Client Environmental manager for all the issues regarding the development and implementation of the environmental management system.
• Be responsible for monitoring the environmental compliance and checking the implementation and the updating of the Environmental Plans by CONSTRUCTION Subcontractors and all Parties.
• Implement Environmental Monitoring of all identified environmental aspects.
• Implement mitigations established to reduce the environmental impacts of Construction and Precommissioning & Commissioning activities.
• Shall have the “Duty of Care” to ensure that all wastes generated on site are properly handled and sensibly disposed according to Owner rules and Local regulation.
• Be responsible for conducting internal audits of CONSTRUCTION Subcontractors and all Parties performance and providing reports to Owner as required.
• Collecting and reporting on a weekly/monthly basis Project Environmental Key Performance Indicators.
• Obtaining complete inventory of all Project waste streams.
• Developing waste management policy, handling/disposal procedures and flowcharts.
• Assisting the waste producer in the development of waste minimization strategies.
• Selecting the waste receivers and Waste Subcontractor Companies.
• Developing, maintaining, and updating individual waste recording, tracking waste streams based on a database.
• Informing of and applying current and emerging waste management regulations.
• Co-ordination among all Parties concerned with waste management.
• Advising producer and waste receivers where necessary.
• Auditing waste records, tracking system and treatment and disposal methods.
• Preparing waste education / awareness campaign and presentations.
• Finding specific solutions for waste management issues.
• Ensuring the internal and external reporting to Owner and Local Authorities.
• Managing and controlling the overall implementation of the environmental requirements and the compliance with the Waste Management on Site.
• Assisting the site management in auditing and reviewing the environmental issues and the Waste Management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or M. SC Degree;
• Minimum five years of experience in Oil & Gas/green energy Industry;
• Minimum two years in construction environmental supervision;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines;
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
